Then I got to Stroud's "Ptolemy's Gate" - but it is the last book of a trilogy and you have to read the whole thing to really appreciate it. And I think I once had one of the Mark Twain books read to me when I was in the third grade. So who or what the heck is the UK Secretary? And why didn't he read the rest of the Bartameus trilogy? Until I got to the very very end I couldn’t find a single book that I’d read!
