Odd Reasons for buying books:
1.Because I liked the smell of it.
2.Because it had head and tail bands.
3.Because it had an odd title like ” Ways to avoid big ships” or “Blott”
4.Because I was in a hurry to catch a train and had nothing to read.

If you are looking at C.J. Cherryh, try ‘Pride of Chanur’, or ‘Downbelow Station’, or ‘Merchanters Luck’. These are all favorites of mine.

Now, you have me wondering what the successful book with the ‘cool dude’ on the cover was.

Also, I agree that the alien on the cover of “Defender” is very cool.
